Yes, if you have a smartphone, you can do this already. Alexa will able to select songs from a several platforms such as Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, TuneIN, SiriusXM and iHeartRadio.
Users just have to instruct Alexa saying “Alexa, wake me up at 8 am to ‘Lean On’ by Major Lazer.” If you are confused, Alexa can also use whatever information you provide to find the right tune for you. Try "Alexa, wake me up to 80s pop music at 8 am,” and Alexa will take care of the rest. Giving gist of a song to Alexa will also help, and would rather surprise you. However, these less specific requests only work with Amazon Music.
Amazon has been continuously expanding Alexa’s reach, the assistant reached to Australia, New Zealand and Canada in the last few months. The voice assistant is giving tough competition to its counterparts such as Google Assistant, Apple’s Siri, Samsung’s Bixby and Microsoft’s Cortana.
