Motorola is finally launching the Moto G5 and G5 Plus smartphones in India. Unveiled last month at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2017 Barcelona, the two new smartphones will be succeeding the Moto G4, G4 Plus and the G4 Play smartphones. The new devices will be available exclusively on Flipkart, unlike its predecessors which were available on Amazon.

One of the major differences between this year’s Moto G phones and their predecessors is the shift in design language. The new phones will not carry the plastic body with the removable back cover. Instead, they will be carrying the unibody design with full metal finish like the Moto M. The phones will also continue to be splash and dust resistant.

One of the major differences between the Moto G5 and G5 Plus is the screen size. The Moto G5 has a 5-inch full HD display, while the Moto G5 Plus has a slightly bigger 5.2-inch full HD display. There is no 5.5-inch display this time however, but there is still a possibility of a third Moto G Plus being launched later on, considering the fact that the three Moto G4 phones were released separately.

The new Moto G5 runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core chip, while the Moto G5 Plus runs on a more powerful Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor. The two phones will be available in multiple variants based on the RAM size and internal storage. The minimum specs for the Moto G will be 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The battery size has also been changed slightly. The Moto G5 has a 2,800mAh battery and the G5 Plus is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.
