Google Maps offers satellite imagery, street maps, 360° panoramic views of streets (Street View), real-time traffic conditions (Google Traffic), and route planning for traveling by foot, car, bicycle (in beta), or public transportation.

All of us know that Google’s services are getting smarter – thanks to the software giant implementing its know-how of machine learning into them. And, Google is trying its best to give as much as of those benefits to Android users. So, this time it’s Google Maps for Android that gets the benefits of smarter computing.

An update to Google Maps for Android has made it possible for all the drivers keen to look for empty roads so as to reach their destination faster or enjoy driving their vehicles. Maps will now show a travel time graph along with a common direction route. There are separate bars for denoting travelling 30 minutes before or after your desired time.

While it may not seem to be something ground breaking, it is certainly of immense help if you drive in metropolitan cities with a slow-moving traffic trend. Right now, the feature is available only for Android users belonging to the USA and the UK. But, we can expect Google to roll out the feature to users of other platforms (like iOS) and users across the countries.
