Three from Regional Science Centre to compete in Robotics regional contest
The students were selected based on their performance at the Innovation Hub of the Regional Science Centre.
KOZHIKODE: Two students from Kozhikode and one from Malappuram will team up to represent the Regional Science Centre and Planetarium, Kozhikode in the upcoming regional level competition of the world robotics Olympiad. Abhinand. P. S from GVHSS, Balussery and Manu. V. M from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Thondayad (both 10th std) are the two students from Kozhikode while 9th standard student Danish Mahmood from Markazuuloom English School, Kondotty is the Malappuram’s representative in the three-member team.
The students were selected based on their performance at the Innovation Hub of the Regional Science Centre. The students will work on the theme ‘Waste Sorting’ during the completion to be held in Thiruvananthapuram. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, RSC Technical Officer Jayant Ganguly said that the students had to create a robot which could sort out the waste by sensing different colour codes. “The selected students are undergoing expert training at our Innovation Hub. If they perform well, they will be selected for the World Robot Olympiad India (WRO India), one of the largest Robotics competitions in India for students between the ages of 9 to 25 years, from September 29 to 30 at Kolkata.
