Apple sued for Apple Maps

LBS had acquired a patent for the sole reason for suing Apple.

LBS Innovations, LLC (LBS), a company who has a reputation for suing tech companies have filed a lawsuit against Apple on Friday for infringing on its patents for Apple Maps. As per an article by Patently Apple, LBS acquired the patents for the sole purpose of suing Apple over their use of Maps on iOS devices from 2012.

The report states that LBS in the past had also sued other technology companies such as Waze, Nokia, Foursquare and others. The report states, “The company also notes in their complaint that "Apple has cited patent 6,091,956 as relevant prior art in over 60 of its own patent filings and has had knowledge of the ’956 Patent since at least 2009."
