The Dual 5 is the first from Micromax’s Dual series and has two lenses for the rear camera. Both the lenses have 13 megapixels resolution, where one captures in monochrome and the other in colour. We clicked few pictures and felt that the camera did well in terms of picture clarity, focus, and optical zoom. The low light pictures were satisfactory. The front camera too comes with 13 megapixels resolution and flash.
The device looks and feels good design-wise, all-metal and curved at the edges. The phone had a good grip and could be operated single-handedly. A special key at the left side of the device, called smart button, lets you assign a shortcut to a specific phone function. There’s also a panic button that can be activated by pressing the volume down and power button to make emergency calls. The 5.5 inch device features a FHD super AMOLED screen with 2.5D Corning Gorilla glass 3.
The military grade EAL 5+ security system encrypts user information stored on the device and makes it hack-proof. It also has a quick response fingerprint sensor with a separate security chip to hold your fingerprint and password information. You can have split profiles, one with all your personal information, accessed only by you and one which hides this information and can be accessed by anyone using your phone. The Dual 5 runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 and is powered by a Snapdragon 652 processor with 4GB RAM. The 4G-enabled device offers an impressive internal storage of 128GB.
The QuickCharge 3.0 and power saving mode, compensate for the rather humble 3200 mAh battery. The device costs Rs 24,999.
