Android users have started receiving the WhatsApp update that brings the text Status' feature back.

Update: 2017-03-20 11:23 GMT
WhatsApp made its Status' feature live on February 24 this year, which allows users to send photos, videos and GIFs throughout their day with friends and family. Instagram launched the story feature last August and reached 150 million daily users in January.

Facebook-owned WhatsApp recently updated its chatting platform with a new Status feature that allows users to upload videos and photos as their statuses. Unfortunately, this feature replaced the text ‘Status’ option. While the update received a mixed response, reports regarding the latter making a comeback was flooding the internet for a couple of days now. Finally, it appears like Android users have finally started receiving the WhatsApp update that brings the old feature back.

Users can now set up text Statuses as per their preference. They will also be able to view status updates of other users by simply scrolling through their contact details. The company in a statement to TechCrunch recently said that the feature at first will be available on Android devices and will later arrive on iOS. The new update is available in the WhatsApp Android v2.17.107 update.
