Instagram goes offline mode for Android
Now, Android users will be able to view, comment on and save posts when offline.
Instagram, in its effort of expanding the reach of its platform to developing countries, has added a new offline support to its Android app. In other words, Android users will now be able to create posts even without an internet connection.
Instagram made this announcement at Facebook’s F8 conference in San Jose. Users will now be able to view, comment on and save posts on their Android phones while offline. These actions will automatically take place once online.
Moreover, the ‘Explore’ tab in the app will also be functional offline. Users will be able to see profiles visited previously and all those posts that were already downloaded.
According to TechCrunch, more offline functionality is expected to be announced in the coming months. The company is currently working on ‘Offline’ mode for iOS devices.
