Microsoft has reportedly commented on this recent development.

It is no surprise that Microsoft could be working on a smartphone to revive its smartphone ecosystem. There are leaks flying around that in addition to major software updates, the Redmond based company could also launch a new device, which everyone expects to be the highly anticipated Surface Phone.

Microsoft has not confirmed anything regarding a smartphone, but there are designers across the world who have come together to create concepts which gives us a preview of what the device could look like, mostly based on the existing speculation and patents spotted in the last months.

This is in line with the photos published of the Surface Phone concept on Behance by Ian James Recto and which envisions a Surface Phone with a 20-megapixel camera and a customizable button on the back that uses the Microsoft logo. While at first glance it’s pretty clear that this Surface Phone still needs some refinements, it’s more interesting to note that the concept imagines features that seem to be going into a completely different direction as compared to the existing flagships on the market today.

The concept shows a removable battery, headphone jack, as well as a stylus. At this point, Surface phone is still an unconfirmed project, though there are signs that Microsoft is indeed working on something huge.
