iPhone X is cheap, says Cook
When we imagine cheap or affordable products, Apple devices are never on the list for obvious reasons.
Apple CEO Tim Cook has finally commented on the apparent steep pricing for the iPhone X, and stated that the price is actually cheap considering the specs provided.
When we imagine cheap or affordable products, Apple devices are never on the list for obvious reasons. It’s true that Apple makes high quality devices, but that also means that they will be priced accordingly.
With each generation of iPhone, reports are released that encompass just how cheap the parts are in comparison to with the finished product. For their latest iPhone X, Apple has made some serious changes which include using new AMOLED screen, procured from Samsung. This is just one example.
Cook explained during ABC’s “Good Morning America” TV show that people are usually getting a bargain. But when you see a $1,000 price tag on a phone, it is difficult to picture it as a bargain.
The argument here is that for $1,000 you’re getting your money’s worth in technology and features. Tim Cook also stated that very few people will pay that kind of money at one go, but most of the users instead will opt for long term break down payments.
“When you look at it, the iPhone has become so essential in our daily lives, people wanted to do more and more with it. So we built more technology into it to be able to do that. Apple is not about selling the most of anything. Our objective is not big revenues, but to make the best product that enriches people’s lives, said Tim Cook.
The new iPhone X will start shipping on November 3 and pre-order will be available starting on October 27. The 64 Gb version will be priced at Rs 89,000 but the 256Gb will have a price tag of Rs 1,02,000.
