Avail emergency help at one click
V-Care has been developed with the association of C-DAC.
Kochi: A Kochi-based firm has introduced a novel technology to help those in emergency situations with the click of a button. V -Care 24X7 has introduced a device based on a technology which has been developed with the association of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). The device responds to distress bringing assistance to the spot of unforeseen emergencies such as health failures, fire, accidents, theft and criminal atrocities.
“The device looks like an identity card and in case of any emergency, a click on the button will give the intimation (including location) to the control room and to the mobile numbers given by the customer,” said Mani Shankar, managing partner of the firm. “Customers can also call the customer care centre through the device to request for help. The customer care centre will immediately inform the emergency to their relatives. We will also take necessary steps to get help from the police, fire force and ambulance service in accordance with the situation,” he added.
Details of all customers will be uploaded in the computer at the control room. As soon as an emergency is alerted, the details including the location will be available on the monitor. In case of theft or accident and if the customer is not in a position to speak for assistance, the device will capture the sound from the surroundings and record it at the control room. Initially, the technology will be introduced in Kochi and later it will be extended to other districts. Two forms of the device are available priced at Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 and the annual service charge is Rs 5000.
