Public health crisis in Utah:

Utah, a western state of US, is defined by its vast expanses of desert and the Wasatch Range Mountains. Last month, the state declared porn as the ‘public health crisis’. In the absence of a legislation to restrict porn the executive director of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation claimed that it was necessary to have a resolution against pornography to let their young people know that there is a particularly psychological and physiological detriment that comes from addiction to pornography.

Teen sexting’, Tales of porn addiction, Campus sexual assaults, Divorce, Hypersexualized teens, Barely clothed pop stars, Sexual violence, all these problems can be tied back young men [who] have been getting a regular diet of rampant pornography since their adolescence, Hawkins says.

The resolution does not ban pornography, but states that Utah recognizes the need for education and prevention against porn because it is “leading to a broad spectrum of individual and public health impacts and societal harms.” Utah senator Todd Weiler, an anti-porn crusader, introduced a proposal in May that would require internet providers to block X-rated content in the state.
