WhatsApp for Android gets two new updates

Both features should be available in the WhatsApp beta version, reports Android Police.

WhatsApp made its Status' feature live on February 24 this year, which allows users to send photos, videos and GIFs throughout their day with friends and family. Instagram launched the story feature last August and reached 150 million daily users in January.

WhatsApp for Android beta has rolled out two new features for the app. The update brings a new redesigned call screen and media sharing. Both features should be available in the WhatsApp beta version, reports Android Police.

WhatsApp beta Android users will get the latest update before other users. The new update makes media sharing more aesthetically pleasing and multiple pictures appear as a bundled album. Users will be able to view all the photos when they touch on the album.

The update also brings a redesigned call screen to the app. It lets users to receive voice calls by swiping upwards instead of sideways. The feature will be useful for users with big screen smartphones.

Android Police also reports that the support for sharing all types of files will soon be available on Android, iOS and Windows Phone in the coming months.
