Microsoft announces new Windows 10 Pro especially for schools
Microsoft recently confirmed the release a new Windows 10 Pro Education version ahead of anniversary update.
Windows 10 Pro Education is the new version that is specifically aimed at schools. It will be shipped by default on devices that are purchased with discounted K-12 academic licenses from OEM partners, but only if version 1607 is pre-installed.
‘Existing devices running Windows 10 Pro, currently activated with the original OEM digital product key and purchased with discounted K-12 academic licenses through OEM partners (these discounted licenses are sometimes referred to as National Academic or Shape the Future), will upgrade automatically to Windows 10 Pro Education as part of the Windows 10, version 1607 installation,’ Microsoft explains.
The company further states that customers who have already purchased Windows 10 Pro can configure their operating system to have the same capabilities and settings as Windows 10 Pro Education using policies. As far as the standard Windows 10 Education SKU is concerned, it will continue to be available.
The Anniversary update will be launched on August 2 along with the list of improvements.
