Govinda App launched for tech-savvy devotees of Lord Venkateswara
Dr D. Sambasiva Rao launched a new mobile app in Tirumala on Wednesday.
Nellore: To make the darshan, accommodation and donation process more transparent and simple for devotees of Lord Venkateswara, TTD EO Dr D. Sambasiva Rao launched a new mobile app in Tirumala on Wednesday, on the auspicious day of Telugu Ugadi. Named as "Govinda Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams" the app provides the mobile savvy devotees all the facilities to book darshan, accommodation, e-Hundi, e-Donation facilities with just the touch of a button on their mobile screen.
Speaking on this occasion, the TTD EO said the temple management is trying to provide the best possible services to its pilgrims with more transparency and speed. "Our intention is to provide all the amenities to pilgrims in a hassle-free way. Our IT wing, along with TCS, has brought significant changes in our most ambitious "Digital Tirumala" online booking system in the last one year and we are still finding out the best IT solutions.
This mobile app facilitates the pilgrims to book darshan, accommodation and donation. The pilgrims can access this app through our official website and through google apps with just a few clicks", he added. Further, the EO said so far 1.33 crore people had darshan in Rs 300 through online and every day over 2,000 rooms are released to be booked by as many devotees. "Similarly, we want to improve IT services with transparency", he maintained.
TTD Trust Board member Sudha Murthy said its a technology-based pilgrim initiative and the TTD is best utilising the IT services to provide hassle-free services to devotees. Other Board members Dr Hariprasad, Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, Bhanuprakash Reddy, Ananta, CIO Sudhakar, IT wing chief of TTD Sesha Reddy and others were also present.
