Instagram has removed the "rug pull" feature which made pre-loaded videos disappear, refreshing the feed and popping up new content.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri said in an AMA from his Instagram story that it was not a glitch but it was done on purpose because they were trying to load new content which was taking a while and in the meantime, it showed the content that was already downloaded.
The head of the social media platform said that it was designed to keep users engaged while new content loaded.
Adam said, "It was generally good for engagement," but later he admitted that it was "really annoying." He further said that because of the change there has been a dip in engagement but the overall user experience on the social media platform has improved.
