Apple offers software updates for several years after the release of a model, guaranteeing 5 years, sometimes offering up to 6 to 7 years.

Good news for iPhone users! The upcoming major software update, iOS 19, will be compatible with the iPhone models that currently support iOS 18. This means iPhones as old as iPhone XS and iPhone XR, released in 2018, will be getting the iOS 19 update, reported iPhoneSoft.
Like every year, some features may be limited to the latest iPhone models.
Apple might unveil the iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 at the Developers Conference, commencing in June 2025, with a public release in September 2025.
