Samsung has announced two new variants of its flagship Galaxy S9 and S9+ phones. The new variants include 128GB and 256GB storage options and are now available through company’s official website. These new variants will be accompanied by already existing 64GB variant. However, these were announced for the US market but the 128GB of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are available since March in the Indian market. We can expect the larger variant sometime soon in the country.

Samsung claims that these new phones are intended to offer users an added advantage of taking more photos, record 4K videos and download more apps than the earlier launched 64GB variant. The updated storage options will also allow users to capture and store the slow-mo videos, which were introduced by Samsung in the latest Galaxy S9+ variant. Since S9+ with its dual-cameras, allows users to record 4K slow-mo videos at 60fps and at 960fps of the 720p videos, which both utilise a chunk of storage, these new storage options can definitely be an added benefit. However, the company still allows the expandable storage option up to 400GB as well. Users who don’t want spend a premium for these new variants can always opt for this microSD expansion.

The already available Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ 128GB in India are priced at Rs 57,900 and Rs 64,900 respectively. While the 256GB Galaxy S9 will retail for $819.99, and the 256GB Galaxy S9 Plus goes for $939.99 in the US market.
