BlackBerry, the Canadian company famous for secure smartphones, has been rumoured to be working on two Android smartphones for launch this year. Codenamed as Hamburg and Rome for now, BlackBerry is probably working on secure Android devices ahead.

A reported leak from a Russian website mentions that BlackBerry has probably dropped the Vienna codename, which was stated to be in the works a few weeks ago, and replaced it with either a new codename or has been dropped altogether. The new device will be called (codenamed) Hamburg.

BlackBerry seems to have dropped BBOS operating system and is concentrating heavily on secure Android for its future devices. The BlackBerry Hamburg is also not getting the famous QWERTY keyboard and will stick to the regular Android full touch display screens. The device is rumoured to be launched in Autumn 2016.

The other device, Rome, according to the same blog, is also rumoured to be a premium class Android smartphone. The Rome will sport a QWERTY keyboard and will launch a few months post the Hamburg.

As for now, there are no further details or specifications about the device and the said information is also not confirmed.
