Samsung's Bixby is the next Wiz Khalifa
The newly activated voice recognition system on Bixby puts it at par with Siri, Cortana and Alexa.
Samsung has recently rolled out the voice recognition system on the Korean units of the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The voice recognition lets users control at least 10 applications using Bixby Voice, including the Gallery, Calculator, Weather, Reminder, Messages, Settings, Camera, Contacts and more. The major question that comes up in everyone’s mind is – is Bixby better than its competition?
To find that out, Galaxy S8/S8+ user in Korea have asked Bixby to sing rap songs for them. The sole purpose of that stupid test was to find Bixby’s capabilities with regards to compatibility with a human’s daily life pattern. Bixby’s ability to rap adds humour and entertainment to one’s daily routine, similar to Google Assistant.
If you look at the video, you will notice Bixby churning out some kind of Korean lyrics with a cool background beat. Now that’s some serious competition to the likes of Wiz Khalifa and Eminem.
Until now, Bixby was limited to reminding events and using the Bixby Vision – a feature that lets users point the camera towards an object, which makes Bixby point out related results. Bixby can also be used to make payments in Samsung Pay by enabling Bixby Labs. Some third party apps like Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp can also work with Bixby.
