This could be the price of the budget iPhone X
Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed what he believes is the price of the LCD iPhone X.
It is widely believed that Apple will be releasing three iPhones this year at the September Apple event. Out of the three, two iPhones are said to come sporting OLED panels and the third, a cheaper version is believed to come with a notch on an LCD display.
While we know that the LCD version of the iPhone X will be a budget 6.1-inch smartphone, we did not know how much it would actually cost. As per a report by 9to5Mac, the cheapest iPhone X will cost between USD 600 to USD 700 (about Rs 41,109 to Rs 47960). This estimation is provided by reputed iPhone analyst Ming-Chi Kuo which essentially is an iPhone X design in the current cost of an iPhone 8. To achieve this cost price, Apple will use an LCD panel in place of the far superior OLED panels, drop the use of pressure sensitive 3D Touch features and use a single camera set-up instead.
The report states, “Ming-Chi Kuo predicts Apple will continue ordering LCD iPhones alongside OLED iPhones next year, suggesting we’ll see upgraded versions of this fall’s hardware in 2019. Current rumours suggest an upgraded 5.8-inch iPhone X and a new Plus-sized 6.5-inch version of the iPhone X will also debut this year.”
Ming-Chi Kuo goes on to predict that Apple will continue ordering LCD iPhones in 2019 as well alongside OLED iPhones and we will see upgraded versions of this fall’s hardware next year.
As far as new products that could be announced this year, Kuo states that there could be a cheaper MacBook Air, an iPad with Face ID and Apple watch models with larger displays.
