There could also be a chance that they are fooling the fans and may be referring to the standard Pixel 3 as the mini version.

It’s the month of October, which means we are about to see the new flagship from Google’s smartphone portfolio. However, this time, there have been several leaks and even unboxing videos of the upcoming Pixel 3 smartphones, revealing all the specifications and feature. People are expecting a Pixel 3 XL with a huge notch and a large chin in a big form factor — something that enthusiasts aren’t able to digest. Google though, has been playing naughty and is teasing some ideas that give the dissatisfied lot some hopes.

In one of their recent Instagram posts, Google has teased a mini Pixel 3. The post says, “We've heard rumours of a mini Pixel. Which begs the question of how “mini” is too mini? We have a feeling the next one will be a bit bigger than this. Tune in on 10/9 to see for yourself. #madebygoogle.” The photo shows a smartphone with a unique pattern at the rear flaunting a fingerprint sensor and a set of dual cameras.

Now, if you haven’t been under the rock for a while, the market is awash with the fact that Google will bring in a Pixel 3 and a bigger XL model of that, which has been the case with previous Pixel models. However, Apple recently unveiled three new iPhones, two of which are the expensive ones and one being the affordable version of the flagship ones with compromised specifications. It seems that Google might be having a similar idea by announcing a smaller 5-inch device with narrow bezels for a bigger display. The ruler on the side also depicts the size of the device as a 5-inch smartphone in overall dimensions.

A dual camera, fingerprint sensor and a wireless charging pad seems to be a part of this 'mini' Pixel 3.

On the other hand, chances are that Google could be previewing the rumoured midrange Pixel device at the event, which is supposed to compete with the likes of OnePlus and Honor devices in developing markets. A smaller form factor with premium internals and an unadulterated version of Android could help Google gain traction in the midrange market.

There could also be a chance that they are fooling the fans and may be referring to the standard Pixel 3 as the mini version. Since the authenticity of the existing leaks in the market is doubtful, we can keep our finger crossed and hope for an affordable Pixel 3 in a compact form factor that Android enthusiasts have been looking for since the last few years.
