How to get DSLR-like portrait shots on your smartphone
The portrait mode which has surfaced in the recent smartphone cameras seem to have become popular.
While the portrait mode paved its way to mainstream through Google’s flagship smartphones – Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL and which have indeed wooed the customers, the demand for the feature seems to be on the rise. Touted as one of the best features which was introduced in 2017, can now be apparently used on other phones as well.
It is evident how strongly Google has worked on the new camera application and its features like- AR Stickers, Motion Detection, and a few others which work only with the Pixel 2 phones.
It’s only Pixel 2 who witnessed the incorporation of these features, while the Nexus 5x, Nexus 6P, and Pixel XL had to settle for AR Stickers and a couple of other features only.
Thanks to Android, many developers are capable of porting either the application or the features which were originally developed by Charles Chow in Camera NX. It is only his work that the other people have taken up and worked upon.
A new app which has been designed on the similar lines, named GCMod5, makes it difficult to understand that it isn't the original one. The app allows us to choose between various HDR settings.
