Infinite treat for the eyes!
The Micromax Canvas Infinity stands for two B's, Bezel-less and Budget.
Smartphone makers today are offering devices with displays that are getting bigger and better. Bezel-less devices — where the display extends right to the edge are available in high-end phones, but Indian brand Micromax has now brought this feature to the affordable segment.
The Canvas Infinity is a 5.7 inch device with 18:9 display screen with 1440x720 HD resolution. If you are someone who wants to largely replace the TV with a smartphone, this is the one for you inspite of the bigger screen size, it can be operated with one hand and won’t hurt your arms during marathon viewings of your favourite serial. The device isn’t all metal clad: the rear removable panel where the finger-print sensor is located, is plastic. But the all black body looks and feels premium.
Performance wise, the phone runs smoothly without any lag with the Snapdragon 425 processor and 3 GB RAM, on Android 7.0, but Micromax will soon release an update for 8.0 Oreo. For selfie lovers, the Canvas Infinity has a better front camera (16 MP) than the rear camera. There’s a super pixel mode that clicks multiple pictures at the same time and combines them to give you higher resolution and more details. The rear camera of 13 MP also does a decent job. The phone uses a removable 2,900 mAh battery and serves for 9-10 hours on moderate usage. The internal memory of 32 GB is expandable up to 250 GB. Priced at Rs 9,999, the Micromax Canvas Infinity offers the feel of a premium smart-phone but within budget.
