The iPhone X is a brand new design that went on sale on November 3, to apparently strong demand, while the iPhone 8 is an update on last year's iPhone 7, which itself was similar to the iPhone 6 released in 2014.

A man was arrested by the customs at the Delhi airport for allegedly trying to smuggle in 100 iPhone X handsets, an official said.

The 53-year-old accused was intercepted by the customs after his arrival from Dubai on Friday.

"Hundred iPhone X handsets worth a total of Rs 85.61 lakh were seized from his baggage after a thorough search," Additional Commissioner of customs at the airport, Amandeep Singh, said.

Besides, this week Apple has announced its quarterly earnings and contrary to analyst predictions, its most-expensive iPhone X came out to be its best-selling smartphone in the first quarter of 2018.

In comparison, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, which were launched alongside the iPhone X, sold 12.5 million units and 8.3 million units respectively.
