Apple to bring new Unicode 10 emojis with iOS 11.1 update
There will be a lot of new emojis for iOS users to send to their peers.
Just a few days ago, Apple rolled out its latest iOS 11 for the general public. iOS 11 brings a host of new features and slight UI refinements for all supported iPhones, iPads and iPods. During the WWDC 2017, Apple had indicated its intention of bringing new emojis to iOS and it seems that you might soon be able to send new emojis to your friends.
Apple has officially announced that they are bringing new emojis to iOS, macOS and WatchOS in the upcoming days. iOS will get the new emojis with the upcoming iOS 11.1 update for the developer and public beta members. The company says that there will be hundreds of new emojis from various genres such as emotive smiley faces, gender-neutral characters, clothing options, food types, animals, mythical creatures and more. Note that these emojis are part of Unicode 10, which was unveiled in June 2017.
Apart from the Unicode 10-based emojis, there will also be some characters that were announced on World Emoji Day such as a woman with a headscarf, bearded person, breastfeeding, zombie, a person in a lotus position and new food items such as sandwich and coconut. Also included in the update is the Love-You gesture, designed after the “I love you” hand sign in American Sign Language.
