Razer Phone 2 spotted on Geekbench, fares worse than the competition

The upcoming handset makes an appearance on the benchmarking tool sporting an 8GB RAM and SD845 SoC.

About a month ago, the first bit of information regarding the Razer Phone 2 came to be. At the time, Razer’s VP Chen Xiaoping had said that the next iteration of the Razer Phone would be launching before the end of 2018 and that it would feature the latest chipset. Rumours quickly started floating about that claimed Razer would be using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC in the handset, however, the Razer Phone 2 has now appeared on popular benchmarking tool Geekbench and the smartphone comes loaded with a Snapdragon 845 processor.

As per a report by MySmartPrice, from the benchmarks, we see that the Razer Phone 2 will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and be paired with 8GB of RAM. The chipset will be clocked at 1.77GHz and it uses four Kryo 385 Silver CPU cores clocked at 1.77GHz and four Kryo 385 Gold CPU cores clocked at 2.8GHz. The handset will come running on Android 8.1 Oreo at the time of launch and should be updated to Android 9.0 Pie at a later date. As of now, these are the only details that are available.

The original Razer Phone came with a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 8GB of RAM and a 5.7-inch QHD IGZO LCD screen that had a 120Hz refresh rate. The battery found here was 4000mAh and it supported Quick Charge 4+ and the handset was powered by Android Nougat but was then updated to Android Oreo in the first quarter of 2018.
