Salman Khan to enter the smartphone world with BeingSmart'
This will mark as the second time an Indian celebrity has invested in the smartphone business after Sachin Tendulkar.
In the age of smart devices, the number of smartphones has been growing at a very high pace with new entrants grabbing a major share of the smartphone market. Since India has been a very crucial playground for smartphone makers, Bollywood actor Salman Khan has decided to make his debut in the smartphone business with the brand name ‘BeingSmart’
The Bollywood superstar is reportedly building an operational management team which will be headed by an expert with headship experiences at firms like Samsung and Micromax. The BeingSmart trademark has already been registered and the devices will be manufactured in a Chinese plant. There are reports that the devices will cost under Rs 20,000 and will run on the Android operating system. These smartphones are most likely to go against the likes of Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and other mid range smartphone brands.
Initially the smartphones are expected to be sold online and with the smartphones hitting the shelves of physical stores later on after strategic partnerships with cellphone and electronic retail chains.
This will mark as the second time an Indian celebrity has invested in the smartphone business, Sachin Tendulkar being the first to invest in Smartron, an IoT corporation that has launched smartphones and laptops for the Indian market.
