The year 2019 has been particularly great for Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi and this year, the brand has announced some great devices which are faring really well in markets the world over. From a few weeks ago, a mysterious handset that sports a pop-up camera has been making sporadic appearances online and now, Xiaomi General Manager has taken to Weibo to post a teaser of an upcoming handset which will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and supposedly excellent battery Life.

As per a report by GizChina, Xiaomi is preparing to debut a handset that could be known as K20 Pro, P20 Pro or X20 Pro and it is expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Rumours of this upcoming flagship have been circulating for weeks and now we know that it will come with an in-display fingerprint sensor as the teaser image shows a handset with this feature in tow. The GM also claims that it will come with excellent battery life as it far exceeds his expectations. Previous leaks had suggested that an upcoming Redmi smartphone would feature a 4000mAh battery and if it is paired with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, one can surely expect above average battery life.

From the teaser image, we can’t quite tell if there will be a pop-up camera as this feature would ensure the elimination of a notch or a camera cut-out. By including a retractable camera, the K20 Pro should feature a greater screen to body ratio due to a virtually all-screen display.

As for the launch, nothing has been made official just yet but rumours suggest that an announcement regarding the K20 Pro should take on May 13 or May 20. The report by GizChina states that Xiaomi will also be having its ‘One more thing’ moment where they will unveil an IoT-powered Smart Home device. Details on this aren’t yet available.
