Samsung Galaxy S8 to sport 4K display: report
Samsung's Galaxy S8 may feature a 5.5-inch AMOLED, and 4K UHD display with a pixel density of 806 ppi, report said.
After the launch of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, market analysts are speculating on the specs of Samsung’s next flagship, tentatively dubbed Galaxy S8.
In a statement to a Korean newspaper, Korean Herald, the UBI research team said that Samsung’s Galaxy next flagship may feature a 5.5-inch AMOLED, and 4K UHD display with a pixel density of 806 ppi.
According to a report released by UBI research, the display size of the Samsung’s Galaxy lineup has increased by around 30 per cent to 5.5-inch since the first Galaxy model. In addition, the picture resolution of the Galaxy lineup has also improved 9.6 times from VGA (480x800) to QHD (1440x2560).
The research team also predicted that smartphones featuring 5-inch display will take around 71 per cent of the entire smartphone lineup from Samsung.
As the VR age has begun, 4K display is considered important in the VR segment, to provide a better VR experience to the users.
Earlier, Sony also released Xperia Z5 Premium that features a 5.5-inch 4K UHD display.
