Samsung launches the Galaxy On Max for Rs 16,900
The Galaxy On Max shares almost everything from the recently launched Galaxy J7 Max, apart from the processor.
It seems that Samsung cannot resist the temptation of launching identical devices in the market, which has been proven once again by the launch of the Galaxy On Max. The Galaxy On Max shares 90 percent of the components with another of their recently unveiled devices – the Galaxy J7 Max. The only difference between both the devices is mode of sale, i.e the Galaxy On Max will be available via online retailer Flipkart for a price of Rs 16,900.
Unlike the J7 Max, it comes with an octa-core MediaTek MTK P25 SoC (with four cores clocked at 2.39GHz and four cores clocked at 1.69GHz). However, the similarities with the J7 Max begin with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Like the J7 max, it has a 5.7-inch full-HD display and comes with Android Nougat out-of-the-box. There’s a 13MP rear as well as a front camera with dedicated LED Flash modules. The rear camera also has a smart glow indicator, first seen on the affordable Galaxy J2 Pro. It packs in a bigger 3300mAh battery, a home button mounted fingerprint sensor and has 4G VoLTE support.
The phone features a social camera app that can let the user share pictures from the camera app itself through integrated social shortcuts. “The instant editing will help consumers create engaging social media-ready content by applying live filters and stickers and share it instantly with social media apps,” says Samsung.
There’s also Samsung Pay Mini on board that can act as a wallet and store credit as well as debit cards. Users can also use Paytm as well as the government’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and pay on the go by just tapping the phone on the Point of Sale (PoS) machine.
The Galaxy On Max will be available in black and gold colours. However, it isn’t known as to when the smartphone will be available for sale.
