Honor 8 to get Android 7 Nougat update starting Feb 10
The new update will add new features and tweaks performance of the device.
Huawei said it will begin rolling out Android 7 Nougat to its Honor 8 handset starting today. The new update will add new features and tweaks performance of the device.
The update offers Honor 8 users the option of selecting the stock Android UI rather than Huawei’s EMUI. Other changes include Quick setting menu, option to use the app drawer, use two apps simultaneously, and customisable notifications. It also enables users to set camera priorities, share contact cards via QR codes, switch between profiles quicker, and rearrange the settings list.
Huawei claims to have optimised the performance and reduced the number of steps to complete a task. The Bluetooth pairing time has also been reduced. The company says that the update will be gradual, though it expects all Honor 8 devices globally to receive the update by the end of the month.
