By default, an iPhone saves all your sent and received messages in its memory. Therefore, unless you have conversations in your Message inbox that you ought to save, you can limit a time till inactive conversations lie in your phone. Go to Messages in Settings and choose Message History and tap on Keep Messages. Under that, unselect the option of ‘Forever’and change it to 30 days or 1 year.
This will ensure that all inactive conversation are automatically deleted, and don’t take up unnecessary space in your iPhone.
Delete all unwanted apps
If you haven’t used an app in months, you probably don’t even need it. Get rid of all the apps you don’t really require.
Turn off Photo Stream
Essentially Photo Stream makes all images on your other synced iOS devices visible to your even through your iPhone. Even though these images aren’t high resolution, they still take up a lot of space. Go to Settings, Photos and cameras, and toggle off My Photo Stream.
Stop double-saving images
If you click an image on HDR, you will notice that your pictures get saved twice, one in HDR and one in a normal mode. Just choose between the two! Go to Photos & Cameras in Settings, scroll down and toggle off the Keep Normal Photo option.
Also, images and videos uploaded on other apps like Instagram, Dubsmash, VSCO cam, also get saved back with the changes back in to your iPhone, leaving you with two picture – the original one and the edited one. Make sure to disable that from the app settings.
