The iPhone 8 will go silent by simply looking at you
The HomePod firmware has revealed the presence of FaceID' making the phone go silent.
The leaked Apple HomePod firmware has given out a lot of the iPhone 8’s details. After revealing details about the iPhone 8’s display, cameras and facial recognition feature; it has given out another feature of the iPhone 8 that could change the way you make your phones silent — see to silence notification sounds.
Guilherme Rambo has found out a piece of code in the HomePod firmware related to the iPhone 8 which looks like this — “TLAttentionAwarenessObserver”. Even the person who knows nothing about technology will understand that this talks about something that observes the attention of the user. This means that the iPhone 8 can be put into silent mode by the user’s glance.
Facial recognition is already present on some flagship smartphones but none of them has the ability to do what this leak claims for the iPhone 8. Previous leaks have hinted at the replacement of the TouchID with the FaceID, pointing towards a fail-safe biometric verification technology developed by Apple. Apple could be changing the path that the smartphone industry is treading on, just like the time when Apple introduced the TouchID verification for the iPhone 5S back in 2013.
The iPhone 8 is expected to be unveiled sometime in September and if leaks are to believed, the smartphone will revolutionise the industry.
