Vivo V11 Pro: Let's go pro, bro!
With tasteful design and powerful performance, the Vivo V11 Pro hits the right balance
Till recently, most smart phones in a particular price band came with a masala mix of the same basic specs and design elements. Things are changing: now, each big brand, seemingly latches on to one Unique Selling Proposition (USP). For one, it is rapid charging, for another, it is a curved screen and a third touts textured back panels.
For Vivo, it is the in-display fingerprint sensing technology: right on the main screen, much easier than fumbling on the back. And now for the first time, the company has trickled this feature down to the V series phones — the Vivo V11 pro.
Even otherwise, the phone offers an interesting mix of features and design. Vivo has managed a screen-to-body ratio in excess of 91 per cent, in a bezel-less frame. The phone is extremely light to hold but doesn't slip from your hands. The back panel is curved and houses the camera module, unusually tucked into the left corner. The notch on the screen is almost non-existent, providing a non-intrusive screen viewing experience.
Powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor and a 3400 mAh battery, Vivo has incorporated AI capabilities in imaging as well as battery management. The 6.41 inches Super AMOLED full view display comes in a 12MP + 5MP dual pixel sensor for the back camera and a 25MP AI selfie camera. While the dual pixel technology provides sharpness and depth in autofocus, the AI engine optimises contrast and brightness, beautifies your selfies by adjusting lighting, tweaking face shape and running each image past a vast reference database of backgrounds and skin tones. Shot refocus allows the user to bokeh-blur either foreground or background The battery is charged using dual engine fast charging technology, as much due to Snapdragon's Quad 660 processor and Vivo's FunTouch OS.
Infrared face access is a useful feature which allows you to unlock your phone in almost total darkness. The device also comes with a dedicated gaming mode 4.0, that hides incoming notifications leading to uninterrupted game-play. Available in two colours — dazzling gold and starry night, the device is priced at Rs 25,990 and comes in a 6GB + 64GB memory configuration. At its asking price, the mix of design and performance makes it a good option for your new primary device.
