Apple Touch Disease: 3 more firms join lawsuit against Apple
Apart from California, Apple is facing another lawsuit in Utah related to the same touchy issue.
Three more law firms have signed class action lawsuit against Apple’s iPhone 6 models ‘touch disease’ which caused the device to flick and bend.
The move follows users report, surfaced in August, which pointed out a design flaw in iPhone 6 handsets. The flaw caused handsets stop registering its users touch and often flicker a grey colour bar at the top of their displays.
In a statement, an attorney in the California case against Apple Richard McCune told Motherboard he has been contacted by 10,000 people asking to join the suit.
Motherboard claims Apple is aware about the issue, and a total of five separate former and current ‘Apple Geniuses’ have confirmed the news, but Apple will presumably not confront it to the customers.
The two touch-screen controller chips, or Touch IC, on the logical board inside the iPhone 6 were alleged to be responsible for the problem. In fact, in a video iPad Rehab explained iPhone 6 is more vulnerable to bending compared to the previous iPhone 5s as it is protected by a thin film, while iPhone 5s is protected with a rigid metal shield.
