Simply clicking multiple times on the given area will help you enter into the test zone.

There are times when you find out if your smartphone is working properly or if it has some hardware that is malfunctioning. Such are cases when you accidentally drop your smartphone on the ground or revived it from a water spill. Many-a-times, you also want to find out if the second-hand Xiaomi smartphone you are about to buy is functioning in every aspect before you make a final deal. Also, if your operating system is not functioning properly, you also need to know what is probably causing a malfunction — the hardware or a particular app. So what do you do? Download third-party applications for hardware testing? Well, there is no app that will allow you to test each and every hardware area in all phones. Either they will allow you to do a basic general test on the display, camera and speaker, or you will end up downloading several apps to test all the zones.

Well, as for Xiaomi smartphones, the developers are kind enough to place a test zone in every device—albeit hidden. The hidden shortcut will take you to the hardware testing zone in a few seconds.

Xiaomi smartphone users would like to know if every part of their hardware is working to its fullest. In order to test each hardware zone of the smartphone, a user needs to individually test it by playing around the smartphone with pulling up certain apps and alike. In many cases, users are also known to install third party apps to do the same tests. However, there is news for those who would like to test each and every hardware area of the Xiaomi smartphone. This method, in particular will help you find out if there are issues with the smartphone (such as the cameras, speaker, mic, network and others) before you go ahead to find a service centre.

To enter the test area, all you need to do is simply gather a few accessories before you start. For example, get your headphone and Bluetooth device ready; connect the device to the internet with a Wi-Fi hotspot, and other such materials—if you need to test it completely). Let’s start:

Tap the ‘Settings’ of the Xiaomi MIUI operating system. Then tap on ‘About phone’ and then tap four times on ‘Kernel version’. You will get a prompt that you are ‘x’ clicks away from entering the ‘CIT’area. Once in the test zone, you can start testing the exact hardware area you want to check for proper functioning. If you start from the beginning, each test takes you to the next test after completion. If there is an error in the area, you can see that the test marks it out as an error for you. After complete testing, you can save the results or send it across to the Xiaomi Dev team for their analysis or as a bug report.
