After a string of successful launches in the country, HMD Global has recently announced its latest flagship — the Nokia 8.1. This latest model is the successor to the highly rated Nokia 7 Plus handset that launched earlier on this year. The handset is priced at Rs 26,999 in India and unlike global variants, the Nokia 8.1 will launch in a single configuration — 4GB/64GB and will go on sale on December 21 with pre-orders starting immediately. The handset can be purchased through all leading offline retailers as well as on e-commerce websites such as Amazon.in and Nokia.com.

The Nokia 8.1 is a premium midrange handset that boasts a 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with an 81.5 per cent screen-to-body ratio due to its notched display and minimal bezels. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC and as mentioned earlier, is paired with a 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.

The Nokia 8.1 comes with a dual-rear camera setup with a 12MP primary sensor featuring a f/1.8 aperture that’s using Zeiss optics as well as an OIS. The 13MP secondary sensor is used for measuring depth during portrait photos. The brand has added a 20MP front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture.

The handset features a 3500mAh battery that’s equipped with fast charging capabilities and the Nokia 8.1 is a part of the Android One program featuring a stock version of Android 9.0 Pie. The smartphone is available in two colour options — Blue/Silver and Iron/Steel.
