It appears that the redesigned Samsung Galaxy Fold aka the Galaxy Fold 2 has started being tested publicly as one person riding the Delhi Metro has been spotted using it quite openly without the protective casing. As per a report by SamMobile, this is the first time the Galaxy Fold has been spotted out in the wild since it had been recalled.

As per the report, “Its appearance in India also suggests Samsung will launch the fixed Galaxy Fold in a lot more markets at the same time. Sadly, we’ll only find out for sure when Samsung is ready to divulge details on the Fold’s second coming. The company hasn’t done a great job of keeping us and prospective consumers apprised of its progress with its foldable smartphone, and the most recent rumour only tells us that Samsung is hoping to release the device sometime “during the holiday season.”

Prior to its official unveiling earlier on this year, the Samsung Galaxy Fold was one of the brand’s best-kept secrets as no leaks appeared. It was so well-guarded that when Samsung announced it at its Unpacked event, it was the first time the world witnessed it in February. Because of this, there is a very high possibility that Samsung didn’t fully test the handset in the real world ahead of sending its test units to select reviewers. This could be why there were a couple of oversights that forced Samsung to delay the official release of the device indefinitely. Samsung surely doesn’t want a repeat of this fiasco and they have already stated that they are testing over 2,000 units of the Samsung Galaxy Fold that’s currently ongoing.
