Samsung Galaxy X leak reveals crucial details about the smartphone

Samsung’s foldable smartphone, reportedly dubbed Galaxy X has been doing rounds in the rumour mill for quite some time. Now a new leak provides even more insights regarding the foldable smartphone. Sketches of the device have surfaced online providing critical information about the device. 

The new renders of the upcoming smartphone indicate that the smartphone will benefit from a heart rate monitor. According to a Dutch website LetsGoDigital, the sketches of the Galaxy X foldable phone that were released by the World Intellectual Property Organization.

The illustrations are believed to be originated from a patent application submitted by Samsung in June last year. The device, as the sketch shows, will feature a hinge in the middle of the device, which is presumed to be the central attraction of the Galaxy X.

In an interview with Samsung mobile chief, DJ Koh, he said that the company is planning to launch its foldable phone sometime in 2019 instead of its initial target to launch it this year. He also said that user experience (UX) is their biggest obstacle to mass consumption and the company is still trying to overcome the issue. Production for the smartphone is expected to kick off by the end of 2018.

Earlier, a patent suggested that the pressure applied on the display will also have a pressure sensitive display to determine the force is applied on the screen. The feature was first seen on Apple’s iPhone 6s dubbed as the 3D Touch.          

The patent also shows both displays featuring a camera and speaker, though it’s possible that there is a third camera and speaker on the rear panel. We might also get to see a stylus for the device.
