It was only after the HMD Global possession that Nokia started producing smartphones.

Not a day goes by without any leak of some upcoming flagship or a popular mid-ranger. Today, it’s Nokia time to gather some limelight for its upcoming flagships – the Nokia 8 and 9.

As per reports by NokiaPowerUser, sketches of two phones have surfaced, which seem to represent the Nokia 8 and 9. By the looks of the sketches, they seem to showcase a legitimate design. The sketches are pretty similar to what you see printed on the user manual leaflets or on the retail boxes.

For the Nokia 8, the sketch showcases a phone with very this bezels. The home button is sitting below the screen in a very narrow panel, along with the fingerprint scanner housed in it. There’s a Nokia branding in the upper right corner along with a front camera, earpiece, and proximity sensors filling up the rest of the narrow upper bezel. The rear takes an inspiration from the Nokia 6, with dual camera lens, LED flash and unknown sensor housing. It seems to be a clean design and will surely be finished in glass or maybe ceramic.

As for the Nokia 9 sketch, it features a Galaxy S8-like bezel-less display up front. There’s no home button in the front, which also points out that the fingerprint scanner could be sent to the rear. The physical earpiece is still there, along with sensor housings and the Nokia branding hogging up the rest of the space in the top panel. As for the rear, the design is similar to the Nokia 8’s leaked sketch, albeit with the fingerprint scanner taking its place in the camera housing. The phone should be surely finished in ceramic or glass, being the company’s flagship.

Over the past few weeks, various leaks have hinted at the possible specification list for the Nokia 8 and 9. The Nokia 8 could feature the latest Snapdragon 625 or maybe the SD821 chipset. The RAM may be around 4GB along with 64GB storage capacity. The phone could feature a 16MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics.

The Nokia 9 will be the cream of HMD Global’s lineup and could feature the SD835 chipset, 4-6GB RAM, a 22MP PDAF camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a QHD OLED screen. Both the phone will operate on a near-stock Android Nougat 7.1 with pre-installed Google Apps.

However, the information may not turn out to be true in the future, but it gives us a glimpse of the upcoming Nokia flagships. Stay tuned for further updates regarding the Nokia 8 and 9.
