Spotted: Sony's Xperia ZG Compact to carry Snapdragon 810
The smartphone is going to run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.
Sony is heavily rumored to launch a bunch of smartphones, including Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact and Xperia X1 at its pre-IFA, 2017 event on August 31st. Now, there’s a new unannounced Sony smartphone, believed to be the Xperia XG Compact, which has been spotted on the benchmarking website, GeekBench, thereby revealing major specifications of the device.
The alleged Xperia ZG Compact achieved 1349 points in single-core test and 3049 in multi-core tests, as per GeekBench listing. The smartphone is reportedly carrying the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 1.55GHz octa-core processor, and goes on to offer 2GB of RAM along with the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system. Strangely enough, Snapdragon 810 SoC is an old chipset; therefore, users are advised to take this information with a grain of salt.
Previously, specifications of Sony’s high-end flagship smartphone – the Xperia XZ1, had also been leaked. It was revealed that the handset will feature a 5.2-inch full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip, and offer 4GB of RAM and 3,000mAh battery.
