Crazy ‘iPhone Pro’ leak confirms Apple’s flagship handset

There’s a lot of information being leaked about the upcoming iPhones and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

It’s no secret that Apple will launch at least three new iPhones this year. The iPhone release cycle appears to be falling in line and at the annual event slated for September, Apple will unveil the successor to the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. Like every year, the event is going to be huge and the iPhones will take centre stage and could have a supporting cast in the form of a new Apple Watch and possibly the rumoured 16-inch MacBook Pro. However, the topic of discussion now is the flagship model from Cupertino which will be the handset that sits atop Apple’s pecking order until September 2020.

What’s in a name? Plenty much actually when it comes to Apple products.

Let’s start at the beginning. A recent leak by an anonymous Twitter account with the handle @CoinX has stunned the tech industry with a very cryptic tweet, “Pro” for iPhone? Crazy naming schemes over the past few years.” This simple statement has raised a lot of eyebrows as CoinX has a 100 per cent record when it comes to predicting Apple news. In the past, he has rightfully predicted the naming of the 2018 iPhone flagships — iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. Also, has rightfully predicted that the iPad mini would be revived and that the iPad lineup will lose its headphone jack. So, if we were the betting type, we would back CoinX with this information as he would not want to tarnish his 100 per cent record.

With the Apple iPhone Pro coming with the ‘Pro’ moniker, it could mean that Apple has something special planned for us this year. If not, then the upcoming iPhone 11 Max version could be rebranded as iPhone 11 Pro. This handset would allow it to complement Apple’s other flagship products like the iPad Pro, Mac Pro and MacBook Pro. These Apple devices come with a special set of features that set it apart from the vanilla models. This could lead to speculation that Apple will be announcing a higher-end iPhone 11 Pro with features that are separate from the smaller 5.8-inch iPhone 11.

Whatever the case may be, the otherwise boring iPhone launch in September has suddenly got a bit more mysterious and exciting.
