Android 8.0 Oreo and Samsung Experience 9.0 available for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

Samsung may not be releasing Android 9.0 Pie for the Galaxy S7 since it’s a two year old device. But this doesn’t mean that they will stop issuing software updates for the handset. As per a report by GSMArena, Samsung has begun rolling out Google’s September security patch for the Galaxy S7 and with it, come some stability improvements.

The report states that the build number is G930FXXS3ERHD and so far it’s been seen only on the Galaxy S7. However, it is expected to come for the Galaxy S7 Edge in the near future as well. The report adds that the software update resolves nine critical issues as well as 18 that affect Samsung’s software. The update contains only an improvement in security and not quite much else.

To install the update, head on over to the Settings app, tap on Software update and then select the Download Updates manually option.
