Xiaomi begins rolling out MIUI 10 global beta ROM to compatible devices

The list of compatible devices include Redmi Note 5 Pro, Mi Mix 2, Mi Mix 2S, Redmi S2 and Redmi Note 5.

The MIUI 10.0.1 update has started rolling to the Redmi Y2 in India.

Most of Xiaomi’s devices are coming equipped with the custom MIUI 9 ROM and now the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has recently released the global beta version of MIUI 10. The new ROM is now being rolled out to all compatible devices including the include Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi Note 5, Mi Mix 2, Mi Mix 2S, and Redmi S2.

This new update brings a host of speed improvements that is noticeable throughout the OS and it comes with a new design too. MIUI 10 comes with a new Recents Page, AI portraits with a bokeh effect, and many more features as well such as new apps like Weather and Calendar.

Xiaomi has announced that this update features a version 8.6.14 and it comes with an updated Mi Browser with optimised storage, PWA (Progressive Web App) support, and better search functionalities. The World Cup can also be enjoyed on the App Vault page.

Xiaomi intends on releasing this ROM to as many devices as possible. The alpha build of the MIUI 10 will start rolling out by September.

To get this new skin, you should have the latest MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM and should be registered for the Global Beta ROM. To get the beta version, you can head on to Settings > About phone > System update,> Check for updates. Additionally, if you already have MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM, you can also download the MIUI 10 through the Updater app.

Xiaomi also states that with MIUI 10, you can also notice it be over 10 percent smoother than MIUI 9.
