The OMEN X Compact Desktop with VR Backpack, notebook and desktop sport the latest internals for hardcore gaming.
HP’s OMEN range of gaming PCs has been available in India for a considerable amount of time. For 2018, the company has revamped its lineup by introducing three new models from its OMEN X series — the OMEN X Compact Desktop with VR Backpack, OMEN X desktop and OMEN X notebook. The Compact Desktop starts at Rs 2,94,988 whereas the standard desktop starts at Rs 4,49,999. The OMEN X notebook starts at Rs 2,10,990.
The OMEN X Compact Desktop is meant to be a hardcore gaming PC that can also be used conveniently for VR gaming. The Compact Desktop comes with its own dock when it’s required to be used as a desktop computer and a separate VR Backpack for when VR gaming is required. The idea is to provide desktop-levels of computing power for VR gaming with the mobility. The backpack consists of four hot-swappable batteries, out of which two are required to power the PC while the other two are charged up. The Compact Desktop can be specced up to an unlocked Intel Core i7 processor along with a factory-overclocked NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU.
The OMEN X notebook is a hardcore gaming laptop with full-blown specifications such as a 17-inch FHD display with refresh rates up to 144Hz, Intel 7th gen unlocked Core i7 CPU, XMP memory options for memory overclocking, tested profiles up to DDR4-2800, and factory-overclocked graphics cards up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 — all of which can handle games at 4K resolution. It also comes with RAID0 SSD option for ultra-fast boot times. The notebook also features HP’s thermal management fans and a vapour chamber with four 3.5 mm heat pipes to keep the temperatures low. It’s also equipped with a mechanical RGB backlit keyboard.
Lastly, the OMEN X desktop is meant for hardcore gamers who like to extract maximum performance from their PC’s hardware. The OMEN X desktop is powered by a deca-core Intel Core i9 processor accompanied with dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPUs. Gamers can also spec it up to dual AMD Radeon R9 Fury X GPUs. The OMEN X desktop’s chassis allows gamers to customise their PCs or build it up from the scratch like a DIY project. The desktop is also equipped with HP’s special thermal management systems with up to three 120mm liquid cooling radiators with top-mounted exhaust vents and a stand that lifts the case off the ground to help pull cool air in.
HP has also launched its OMEN series of gaming accessories. The HP Windows MR Headset starts at Rs 51,187 whereas the OMEN Headset 800 is available at Rs 6,999. The OMEN Mouse 600 retails for Rs 4,999 and the OMEN Steel Series Gaming Keyboard is priced at Rs 9,999. The OMEN Steel Series Mouse pad is also available at Rs 2,199.
