New iPhone 11 Pro leaks
Apple is building up some suspense for its September iPhone 11 announcement.
The Apple iPhone 11 Pro should be unveiled in the first half of next month and the launch date is looming close. After Softbank’s President let it slip that Apple’s upcoming iPhones will hit shelves on September 20, the latest news comes via a case maker called ESR that’s picked up by iPhoneSoft.fr who have revealed some big information regarding the upcoming smartphones.
The iPhone 11 series of smartphones are believed to follow the 2018 Apple flagships — the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. This year around, Apple will launch three new handsets as well with the 5.8-inch iPhone having the same screen size as the 2018 model. The successor to the iPhone XR will boast a 6.1-inch LCD display while the iPhone XS Max successor will come with a 6.5-inch display.
In front, the design of the new iPhone will remain largely unchanged. However, Apple is rumoured to introduce the handset with a redesigned mute switch that’s similar to what the Cupertino brand uses on the iPad lineup. The biggest change to the handset will be found on the rear with each model getting an extra camera.
This new feature has received largely negative feedback from the tech industry as the journalists the world over are criticizing Apple’s use of a square camera hump. This new hump will be similar to what Google will use on its upcoming Pixel 4 smartphones that have already been teased by the search giant. On Apple’s upcoming iPhones with OLED displays, there are expected to be three rear sensors — a telephoto lens, a wide-angle lens and an ultra-wide-angle lens. Each sensor is expected to be rated at 12MP. Upfront, the handset will use an improved sensor for selfies with reports claiming that Apple will employ a 12MP sensor instead of the standard 7MP that was used in the previous generations.
Lastly, the biggest news that came out of last week’s leak is surrounding the naming scheme of the devices. Apple will be adding a Pro moniker to its high-end OLED smartphones as they do with the flagship iPad Pro, Mac Pro and MacBook Pro.
Speaking about this new naming scheme, Gizmodo states, “…based on a stock list from smartphone case maker ESR (discovered by iPhonesoft.fr), the general consensus is that the next products in the iPhone family will be called the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max.
While these aren’t exactly the most intriguing or eye-catching names, by simplifying its naming scheme, Apple could eliminate some consumer confusion now that the iPhone portfolio has expanded to three new phones every year instead just two.”
So there you have it, while the iPhone 11 Pro Max will be a mouthful, it looks like plans are already in place for the flagship 6.5-inch smartphone to come with this branding. With the official launch expected to take place in the early days of September, this rumour is close to being confirmed or rejected.
