itel S42 launched with Snapdragon 425 chipset, 3GB RAM in India for Rs 8,799

itel, mobile brands in India has unveiled its latest budget smartphones — S42, A44 and A44 Pro, that will address the needs of the entry segment smartphone users.

The S42 runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. The S42 features a 5.65-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a 2.5D curved glass for protection. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset paired with 3GB RAM and 16GB of storage, expandable up to 128GB. The phone will also have face recognition technology which will be introduced via software update. The S42 also comes with a rear fingerprint sensor which the company claims can unlock the S42 in 0.1 seconds.
On the photography front, the S42 sports a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and dual flash, and 13MP selfie camera with dual front soft light. The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, micro USB 2.0 port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. The S42 is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery. The S42 carries a price tag of Rs 8,499 and will be sold via offline stores and not through any online retailer.
As for the Itel A44 and A44 Pro, both the handset feature a 5.45-inch full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphones run on Android 7.0 Nougat and are powered by MediaTek MT6737M 64 bit quad-core processor. The phones come equipped with a multi-functional fingerprint sensor. The A44 is priced at Rs 5,799 and the A44 Pro will hit the market around mid-April.
