Samsung Galaxy A8 Star India launch expected soon

The Galaxy A8 Star is powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset aided by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

Samsung unveiled its new mid-range smartphone — the Galaxy A9 Star in China back in June this year and now the company is rumoured to launch the smartphone in India soon with a label — Galaxy A8 Star. The handset is already available in global markets including, Philippines, Hong Kong.

Amazon India is teasing a Samsung Star smartphone on its own website which is believed to be the Galaxy A8 Star. The Amazon teaser online listing suggests that the device would come with a metal build with a curved glass on top and dual camera setup. The price and availability of the smartphone are yet to be known.

In China, the smartphone is priced at 2,999 yuan (approximately Rs 30,600). The key features of the smartphone are its Infinity display, dual rear cameras and 24MP selfie shooter. The Galaxy A8 Star sports a 6.3-inch full HD+ (1080×2160) Super AMOLED display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset aided by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 400GB. The device draws its power from a 3700mAh battery.

In terms of optics, the device features a dual rear camera setup, comprising of a 16MP and 24MP sensors along with an f/1.7 aperture. For selfies, there is a 24MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The handset includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
