Apple releases iOS 11.2.5, watchOS 4.2.2, tvOS 11.2.5 updates
The update primarily adds support for HomePod ahead of its release next month.
Apple has rolled out iOS 11.2.5 for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch which adds support to its HomePod device. The update also adds a new feature which allows Siri to read the news by asking it “Hey Siri, play the news”. Users can also ask for specific news categories including Sports, Business or Music. Along with these added features, this update fixes some bunch of minor fixes and also adds the ability for VoiceOver to announce playback destinations and AirPod battery level.
In addition to the iOS 11.2.5 update, Apple releases watchOS 4.2.2 and tvOS 11.2.5 updates. The logs of these updates only mention about improvements and bug fixes and don’t include any added new features. When running the latest version of tvOS and iOS, Apple TV will now appear as a Now Playing tile in Control Center on iPhone and iPad.
Alongside the new iOS, watchOS, and tvOS updates, Apple has also released macOS El Capitan 10.11.6, macOS Sierra 10.12.6, and macOS High Sierra 10.13.3. The new macOS El Capitan and macOS Sierra updates prominently fix the recently discovered Meltdown bug.
The updates are rolled out through OTA updates, which users can check in Settings > Software Updates or the users can also update via iTunes.
